Postnatal Training

Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training

Mom and Baby

Welcome to the North Carolina School of Yoga's Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training Course. This teacher training is designed for teachers who wish to work with mothers returning to public classes following birth. Teachers will gain essential information to safely work with new mothers in their healing and growth both immediately after delivery and in the months to come, as well as how yoga can support the bond between mother and child.

The postpartum period begins for a woman immediately after the birth of her child and continues into the weeks and months following. This training will give students the tools and techniques necessary to guide mothers, and babies, through this period safely and with greater peace. Students will learn how to teach mom and baby classes, postpartum classes and how to help new moms who return to public classes. Because there are also many adjustments and changes in the physical body during this time, we will also spend time focusing on anatomy and infant development so that students may understand how to apply the techniques of yoga intelligently and efficiently.

Beyond the physical asana practice, students will also learn how to bring mantra, meditation and pranayama into these wonderful classes to help mothers feel more centered, restored and peaceful as well as supporting the bonding between mother and child.
