Gentle and Restorative Teacher Training

Gentle & Restorative Yoga Teacher Training

Welcome to the Shanti Niketan Ashram's Gentle and Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Course. Gentle and Restorative Yoga practices are specialty classes incorporating supported asanas, appropriate pranayama and specific concentration techniques to assist in healing, recovery, relaxation and restoring the mind, body and spirit.

This training is designed for yoga teachers, teacher trainees, fitness professionals, and anyone interested in developing a greater knowledge of these specialty types of classes. Yoga can help to relieve common discomforts, strengthen muscles, improve circulation and blood flow, stabilize emotions and develop concentration and focus - all valuable tools for life.

Learn to teach gentle and restorative yoga by bringing together elements of hatha yoga postures, breathing awareness and meditation to help students new to the practice, those recovering from injury or illness, expectant mothers, and anyone who wishes to simply slow down. Students in this training will learn how to incorporate supportive yoga props (blankets, bolsters, blocks, straps, sandbags, etc) into each class as well as anatomy and intelligent sequencing for each type of gentle or restorative class. Join us for this comprehensive and thorough training in gentle and restorative yoga.
