Yoga for the Cervical Spine with Lakshmi
Sunday, December 17 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm

The cervical spine, or neck region is the most common area of tension and pain in the spine, and the area that is most often ignored. By understanding how the cervical spine moves, what is attached to it, how they relate to one another, and how to keep these areas in proper relationship will quickly begin to alleviate tension and pain. With understanding comes the opportunity to change, and thus the door opens to healing. In this experiential workshop we will study the anatomy of the cervical spine and neck region as well as factors that influence neck pain, and therapeutic exercises to stretch, strengthen and realign the neck. All levels welcome. Perfect for both students and teachers.

Christmas Eve Observances
Sunday, December 24 - 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Please join us on the sacred and holy eve of Christmas to celebrate the coming of the Lord into our presence upon the earth. We will lift our voices in praise, go deep within in prayer, and strengthen our dedication and devotion to God through scriptural study of the birth and life of Jesus Christ. May the unconditional love and compassion of Jesus be born in all our hearts and minds! May we realize what is within us and all beings already, the resplendent and Supreme Self!

New Year's Eve Observances

The Shanti Niketan Ashram New Year’s Eve Observance is the perfect time to come together and rededicate ourselves to our spiritual practice, refocus our concentration upon the Self within, and to remove anything standing in our way from realizing our goals through the sacred practices of kirtan (singing the praises of God), meditation and scriptural study. Steady concentration brings steady results. Begin your year with how you would like to spend it, with your mind and heart fixed upon God and allow the past year to go gracefully, with gratitude and love for all blessings. May God bless you!
